Well, we’ve started 2015 with a bang! We are always on the look out for independant baby boutiques nationwide to stock our handmade dribble bibs. As always, our bibs are backed with absorbent, thick fleece to protect baby’s clothes from dribble. Our bibs are soft against baby’s skin and adjustable to 3 different size options, making them fit from birth to 3 years old to see your little one right through the teething stage.
I am delighted to announce that our latest stockist of dribble bibs is a brand new baby boutique called Susie Bluebell in Rustington, West Sussex. Please visit their Facebook page if you’d like to find out more about their boutique or to reserve any bibs.
Things may have appeared a little quiet on our Facebook and Twitter sites recently, but we are far from it!
We are so excited to have been invited to take part in this years Mum Knows Best Warwickshire Christmas Fair! The Mum Knows Best Warwickshire Facebook group was set up by Warwickshire Mum Nikki Francis, as a place to chat to fellow mums for advice, ideas on great days out and discounts and to just generally share ideas and stories on our favourite little people! The fabulous group now has nearly 2000 members, is completely private so that members are able to discuss matters without their hundreds of Facebook friends being able to view it, and even has the facility to private message the page to post anonymously too! As well as creating the Mum Knows Best Warwickshire group, Nikki is also heavily involved with raising money for many charities, including Warwick Hospital Special Care Baby Unit. There is now also a Mum Knows Best West Midlands Facebook group for any Mums based there to join.
So, in a nutshell, we are busy beavering away preparing stock for this incredible event! We’d love to meet you if you can make it, where we will be selling our best selling dribble bibs, Christmas stockings and Christmas tree decorations! All handmade, of course…
Since starting my business over 18 months ago, I have made some great working relationships and even friends through Twitter. One of these, is the wonderful Hampers By Lucy, that make bespoke hampers for all occasions!
I’m so pleased to announce that our handmade dribble bibs will be featuring in their Baby’s Christmas hampers! You can view and purchase all of their hampers at www.hampersbylucy.co.uk.
Every once in a while, we hear of the latest celeb to get hitched or become pregnant. When we found out that former Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien (who played Sarah-Louise Platt) was expecting her 2nd child, being a massive soap fan, we couldn’t resist sending her some of our goodies!
Upon receiving our items, the actor sent us a kind private message, thanking us for sending her our ‘stunning bibs’ and ‘generous gift of a drawstring bag’ for her daughter Scarlett. She also sent a tweet on our behalf, directing her 126,000 followers to our page! What a genuinely lovely lady!
Like every other week, on Sunday 15th June 2014 we entered Theo Paphitis twitter competition, #SBS. Theo rewards small businesses that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their business in one tweet using the hashtag #SBS between 5pm and 7.30pm every Sunday.
I’m excited to announce that we were one of the lucky six chosen this week and received a retweet off the man himself, along with featuring on the home page of theopaphitissbs.com.
In just 2 days, we have seen increased website traffic, our twitter followers have grown by over 100 with added interest and sales! The support we have received from fellow #SBS winners has been incredible, with so many messages of support! To top all this off, we will even have the opportunity to meet Theo at the annual #SBS meet up!
We really appreciate the recognition Theo has given us, it’s such a boost to a small business like us.
I’m excited to announce, we are welcoming a new independant baby boutique to our list of stockists! The beautiful Rosy Rosie, based in London, will be stocking our handmade changing mats.
All items at Rosy Rosie are either handmade, made in the UK or have a good ethical provenance. They attend regular events, so be sure to check out their page https://www.rosyrosie.com/content/10-events to see when they’re next near you!
As ever, a massive thank you to all our customers, returning & new. Without you, none of this would be possible. I am simply, living the dream.
Well, what a week it has been! I am getting prepared for my next family holiday in just over a week, scrambling around trying to complete orders & maintain all emails, social media and stock levels. Somewhere this week, I have found the time to do a spot of networking on twitter, and it has really paid off!
In just one week, Bibs & Bobs have won #twittersisters (held on Thursdays 8.30-9.30pm) and
#womaninbiz (held weeknights 6-7pm). Twitter is a great platform for businesses, not only to help customers know about us, but to make connections with fellow businesses. The people I have ‘met’ through twitter and the information I have been given has been invaluable to my business.
I’m so proud to announce that Bibs & Bobs will be supporting the amazing charity, Count The Kicks!
They are a UK registered charity that aims to empower mums to be with knowledge and confidence throughout their pregnancy.
A baby’s movement indicate its wellbeing and by understanding their baby, mums can be empowered to trust their instincts and ensure the healthy delivery of their baby.
During my pregnancy, I had a week of tests and various midwife appointments and finally got the decision to deliver my baby early as I had developed pre-eclampsia. It is vital to know your own body and your own baby and this is very close to my heart.
They hold regular baby shows and we will be donating lots of Bibs & Bobs goodies for their tombola! Their website is well worth a look, Count The Kicks.
